Room 1 and PCC

PCC Teacher

Hello,

My name is Rachel Torres and I am the Special Education teacher at 24th Street EEC. I currently teach in room 1 which is the Pre-School Collaborative Classroom (PCC). I have over 10 years of experience working with children and families. This is my second year teaching at 24th Street EEC. I earned my BA in Liberal Studies from the University of California, Riverside. I attained my teaching credentials and Master’s degree in Special Education from Cal State Los Angeles.

My philosophy on teaching is based on educating children of diverse needs and backgrounds in an inclusive classroom that is safe and nurturing. I strongly believe that children learn best through engaging, hands-on, and real-life experiences. As an educator, I believe it is imperative to not only fulfill the academic needs of students, but also their social-emotional and physical needs. I love providing students with multi-sensory learning opportunities that are meaningful and fun. I look forward to working with you and your children, “Together may we give our children roots to grow and wings to fly.” – Anonymous.
